College Savings Dolls, Inc. proudly announces the introduction of two positive role model dolls. The Jessica and Deanna dolls are the first in the startup company’s product line and will be available this November 22-23 at Chi-tag.
Chicago, IL – November 1, 2014 – Realistic College Savings Dolls inspire little girls to set future savings goals through modeling realistic body images paired with positive financial goals. Jessica and Deanna are the market’s first positive body image toys based on actual college age girls. Targeted for girls ages 5 to 12, Jessica and Deanna are a 15-inch composite of realistically developed 18-year-old college students. Adding to the affirmative realism, each doll is accompanied by the story of the real-life Jessica and Deanna now attending community college and a state university respectively.
The College Savings Dolls website (www.collegesavingsdolls.com) offers families financial resources like links to 529 plans, a savings calculator, financial tips, and college research and scholarship information. It also features a child’s section that includes an illustrated booklet entitled, “Every Penny Counts”, coloring pages, a printable diploma and an entry for a possible Jessica and Deanna scholarship!
Founded by two enthusiastic mothers who share the same ideals, the company was born out of a story on the Oprah show about grade school children and their fascination with perfect body image issues. Sarah Dugo, B.S., M.A.T., co-founder of College Savings Dolls, Inc. said of the company’s mission, “We were inspired to change societies’ flawed thinking of what a ‘normal’ body should look like and influence futures by offering a way to achieve tangible career goals one realistic step at a time.”
